I. MISSION OF THE OVERVIEW

Puppet (and alternative) theater is an irreplaceable part of the Czech theater culture, whose spectrum is significantly expanding and enriching. In the interest of the further development of this unique theater type and following the inspirational tradition of Pilsen puppetry, represented primarily by the name of Josef SKUPA

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF PUPPET AND ALTERNATIVE THEATRE SKUPA'S PILSEN,

a selection competition for the creation of professional puppeteers and alternative theater makers from Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, which would allow a regular creative confrontation in the field and would also be a concise presentation of the above-mentioned theater types for invited guests in order to support their export abroad. The National Selection is complemented by a sample of extraordinary foreign performances (with special reference to the V4 countries) serving as inspiration for Czech artists as well as enriching the cultural life of the city and the region. The festival also provides an extraordinary opportunity for professional start-up for students and fresh graduates of theater schools and creates space for both meetings of a wide range of theatrical creators as well as meeting theaters with children, youth and the Pilsen and regional public. Regular part is also an additional program (stage shows, concerts, screenings, symposia, workshops, etc.)

 

II. ORGANIZATION OF THE OVERVIEW

At least six months before the start of the show, a Preparatory Committee will be set up, commissioned by the director of the ALFA Theater in Plzeň, after a prior agreement with the City of Pilsen. The executive secretary of the festival is made up of the Director of the ALFA Theater and commissioned by the theater staff.

 

III. DUTIES AND COMPETENCES OF THE PREPARATORY COMMITTEE

a/ appointment of the selection board for the festival program

b/ coordination of financial sources of the festival provided by the announcer, eventually by other sponsors

c/ compilation of the show program and its timetable and local timetable

d/ promotion - posters, information brochure, tickets, bags, decoration, contact by the media

e/ securing workspace

f/ Appointment of a three to five jury for individual prizes

g/ accommodation of participants

h/ continuously informing theaters and the public about the progress of the festival's preparation

ch/ invitation of foreign or amateur ensembles

i/ supporting accompanying program / exhibition, projections, workshops, etc.

 

IV. PARTICIPATION IN THE OVERVIEW

a/ offer to participate (on the relevant form) can be submitted by any professional theater, group or theater from the Czech Republic / natural and legal person whose orientation corresponds to the statute / until 15.2. the year of the show. Any number of productions targeted at audiences of any age (except for productions for preschool children) may be offered, with the preference for productions for youth and adults. Offers will be sent to DVD. The production stage / premiere date / is irrelevant. The only condition is that the production has not yet been presented to Skup's Pilsen.

b/ the festival secretariat is obliged to 15.4. the year of the show to announce whether the production was selected.

c/ the selected participants undertake to respect the status of the SKUPA'S PILSEN Festival.

 

V. FINANCIAL SUPERVISION OF THE OVERVIEW

a/ The show is financially secured from the purpose of the organizers, obtained on the basis of the submitted project of the show, which takes place under the auspices of the City of Pilsen and the Pilsen Region.

b/ The organizers pay by budget:

• promotion of the show
• rents space for events within the show
• jury and accommodation of jury members
• flower decoration
• guest tickets and performers for show events
• transport to special events planned within the show
• the stay of two SPL representatives from registered theaters and honorary guests throughout show duration, namely: accommodation / actual costs /
• accommodation for all professional performers from the Czech Republic, for the night before the performance and on the night of production.

c/ Performers of soloists, ensembles and theaters are entitled to a performance fee.

d/ the performers will be charged for transport costs

e/ SPL is given at will to pay for the stay of other participants in the show. About participation and payment costs of foreign participants will be decided by the SPL in agreement with the preparatory committee of the show.

 

VI. SPECIALIZATION OF INDIVIDUAL PRICES OF THE FESTIVAL.

The individual prizes of the festival (associated with financial rewards) to the authors of any component of the production are awarded by the City of Plzeň at the jury's proposal. Foreign and amateur participants can award Honorable Mention.

 

VII. FINAL PROVISIONS

The necessary changes to the provisions of the Statute may be proposed in the future Preparatory Committee of any year of the festival.
